Trade doesn’t affect everyone equally. While some benefit, others—particularly marginalized communities—bear the burden. From job losses and wage suppression to limited access to healthcare and education, the systemic inequities in trade policies deepen existing injustices. This year, we’re working to shine a light on these disparities, center the voices of impacted communities, and ensure their concerns are at the heart of the trade justice movement. Through education, advocacy, and coalition-building, we aim to make trade policies more equitable and inclusive.
The U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) is hosting a series of virtual roundtables to hear from underrepresented communities about how trade policies affect them. These sessions are part of a national effort to shape more equitable trade policies and will cover topics such as skill and income levels, age and disability, race and ethnicity, and more. This is a unique opportunity for community members, not just lobbyists, to speak directly to policymakers and ensure their voices are part of this critical dialogue.
Upcoming Roundtables (All Virtual):
How to Participate: Registration is free and open until one week before each session. To register, email DE@usitc.gov with your name and the roundtable you’d like to join. For more info about sessions and registration deadlines, check out the USITC website.
